Weekend fun

Aidan woke up with some wicked cowlick. So cute.

It was such a beautiful (and hot) day! Mike, Shannon, Blake, Reid, Bailey, Aidan and I went for a 2hr walk. It felt so good to be talking and walking with people I love.

Aidan enjoying the view

Then we came home, had a nap and played some more....

It was such a gorgeous day, we had dinner out on our patio. Delicious salmon, fantastic spinach salad (from our garden), amazing dill pickles (made by russ' mom).. yum. yum.

Pearly white no.3

Aidan had some cheddar cheese for the first time. He was.. indifferent about it. I hope he will learn to like cheese. Otherwise he'll have some adjustments to make!

The tooth no. 3 is finally visible. It broke through his gum few days ago. There was no change in his behaviour, Russell and I didn't even know he was teething.

Aidan's still not crawling forward. He's been crawling backwards and now he's picking up the speed. It's quite amazing how mobile he is without walking or crawling "properly." Today he got stuck under our coffee table and spent some time playing with our blankets.

another day in paradise

Aidan tried some yummy grapes for the first time. I bought the grapes at Costco and they were delicious! Russell described it as "exploding with flavor in my mouth."

Those eyes..... They're so beautiful. Wonder what the world through his eyes is like?

It was such a beautiful day, so Aidan and I spend sometime in our backyard... just talking and playing.

And of course, there was some eating as well.....

Aidan still loves playing with his blocks. He used to swing his arm wildly and knock the towers down but now he removes one block at at time. And if I (or Russ) gasp when he's just about to grab a block, he breaks into laughter.

Aidan's new favorite toy: Cuban maracas (he has two sets, one from my friend Diana and another one from our next door neighbour Randy). Now if I can get him to stop licking/eating it, I'll be happy.

The dinner time wasn't as fun. Maybe he was too tired to eat, maybe he didn't like the food I made him. Who knows.

I'm too sexy for my ... sleeper

I have no idea what got into him, but after breakfast Aidan wanted to take his sleeper off. He was trying and trying for so long, so I unbutton the top few just to help him out a little....

"My milkshake brings all the girls to the yard...."

Feeding frenzy part II

Aidan loves sweet potato puffs. Oddly enough he has to have one in each hand, otherwise he won't eat. Hum.

We tried more strawberries. Thankfully there was more eating this time, less smooshing on the tray. It's amazing how quickly he's learning. He knows how to get his arms out of the safety straps once I unbuckle the straps. And he even knows how to clap when he's excited (the first time he clapped I was singing, "if you're happy and you know it...." and he clapped when he was supposed to!). Yes, I am very proud of Aidan.

The Puk driving school is now... open

Russell: "Drive with your hands at the "7" and "5" o'clock positions...."
Aidan: "Daddy, I can barely REACH the steering wheel."

Happy birthday to me part II

Russell threw me a birthday party today. The house was full of great friends and their babies! We planned the party late so Aidan would be sleeping but apparently he didn't want to miss out on the fun so he crashed the party.
